The constant Zone is a zone(area) that is always supplied air while the system is running. The purpose of the Constant is twofold. It mixes cool air (or hot air) into the air being returned to the indoor unit. The temperature sensor is in the return air. This sensor controls the amount of cooling or heating of the air flowing through the system. The constant also acts as a spill zone. e.g.if only one bedroom(zone ) is turned on and there is no constant zone the following will occur.

What are Ducted System Controllers?

What are Ducted System Controllers?

Controllers determine the level of comfort in each area of your home, by changing the volume of air delivered to each area.

Basic Zone Controllers are capable of turning zones on or off. In a well designed ducted system a home will be divided into zones. The zone controller can shut off the supply of air to areas (zones) that are not being used. This has a twofold effect -saves on running costs and provides greater flexibility for more air to be used in other areas. The more zones the better the flexibility.
